My Story

I'm so glad you're here, my name is Marisa Hope and I am the coach here at Hope Wellness. I am an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, have my ISSA Fitness Nutrition Certification as well as my Well College Women's Health & Hormones Course Completion. I am constantly researching the latest information around women's health, metabolism and prometabolic eating. I believe in long term health, a sustainable approach to reaching your goals, and being able to truly LOVE what you're doing to better yourself, otherwise what's the point?

I am a nature lover, adventure seeker and a huge believer in trusting the universe to lead us down the path we're meant to be on. I am originally from Winnipeg MB, Canada born and raised, until about the age of 22 when I decided I wanted more and moved to Vancouver Island. This place is paradise, I am constantly going for beautiful hikes, visiting the ocean and discovering the most charming coffee shops. I have met so many amazing people here and I can't wait to see where the next part of my journey takes me. Let me dive into a bit of my story and how I got here in this space of ditching diets and advocating for women's health.

I've been through it all, the restrictive eating, the starvation diets, the absurd amounts of cardio, all just to be miserable, hormonally messed up and even more consumed in a negative way around my body.

My own fitness journey started at the young age of 17 years old when I joined my first YMCA. I began doing bodybuilding shows as a bikini competitor at the age of 19 years old, and over the course of 3 years and 4 competitions developed many disorded eating patterns like restricting and binging, obsessing over food, punishing myself with exercise and felt absolutely consumed with my negative body image.

I thought this was just how I was always going to be, ridden with guilt and fear around food with no self confidence or self esteem.

But then I started to share my journey more and reached out to other women in the fitness industry where I found out so many more women were struggling with the same things. I wasn't alone, and it was the first time I felt a sense of relief, like perhaps I could heal and get out of these debilitating cycles.

Finally, I said no more to these harmful habits, and learned how to nourish my body in ways that energize and benefit me, learned how to train and workout in ways I love and allow me to grow and gain strength, through all my experiences and certifications to become a coach, my approach to guiding and coaching women is one that allows my clients to fully thrive in a lifestyle they love while also reaching their fitness goals. I am extremely passionate about helping other women also break free and find their food freedom, so they can gain their life and happiness back.

This coaching platform is very unique, I provide hands on support and guidance that truly teaches you how to thrive in a lifestyle you love. I don't believe in cookie cutter programs, or simply giving you a program and saying see ya later! I am here with you every step of the way. Every single thing we do together, is custom to YOU and YOUR current lifestyle, and the knowledge you will gain is so exclusive and powerful you will be wondering where this was all your life. But you're here now, and that's what matters.

Whether your goal is to find your food freedom, ditch the diets for good, gain muscle, feel better in your own skin, get stronger, be able to play with your kids more, not feel controlled by restrictive eating, or just have a better relationship with yourself and adopt a powerful mindset, this is the right place, welcome queen. I look forward to working with you and connecting more.

Healing from the inside out

A lot of the time we search for a quick fix and want instant results. Yet this only wreaks havoc on hormones, causes harm to our metabolism and leaves us even more confused than ever before. When we focus on eating to support our metabolism, we gain so much more out of life because we are promoting healing from the inside out. If we're coming from a place of starvation diets, we need to be patient and remember that our body just wants to keep us safe and alive, if we are kind to it and nurture it, overtime it will do the things we ask of it. Be patient.

Marisa Hope

I've been through so much in my life from disorded eating patterns, toxic relationships, chronic stress, over exercising and long term injuries, and it has all led me here. I am the woman I am today because of the struggle, and I turned it all into a beautiful journey that I learned and gained so much from. I am so passionate about helping women over come their own hurdles and realize their full potential. I want all women to feel they can discover their true selves through nourishment, empowerment and becoming their strongest self.
